'Bathtime on Bear Creek' - A ROLF! Western

The latest release for NUELOW Games's ROLF!: The Rollplaying Game of Big Dumb Fighers joins the annual bath of Bear Creek's menfolk in progress... just as the notorious Black Phantom Gang arrives to destroy the peace. Will Breckinridge Elkins, the greatest hero of the Humboldt Mountains, stop the outlaws from cleaning up so his kinfolk can get clean?

"Bathtime on Bear Creek" was inspired by the Breckinridge Elkins comedic western stories by the great Robert E. Howard--stories that L.L. Hundal have described as reading like ROLF!-based gaming fiction. In addition to six pre-generated characters and a bunch of combat maneuvers and traits, this release includes the short story "Mountain Man" so you can see if you agree with her estimation.

  1. What are the chances of getting an updated version of the core rules with all of the new maneuvers and traits?

  2. When we get the western game put to bed, we'll start thinking seriously about what you;re asking for. We will probably do some sort of ROLF! edition that has the final versions of all the combat maneuvers and traits that have been appearing in the supplements. Astute gamers will have noticed that a few of them have subtle changes from appearance to appearance as we've been adjusting in response to feedback and further play-testing. (Comments we get are listened to and considered... so if you have them, please make them!)

My guess? Either late fall or early next year (if there is a next year!) you'll see "Final ROLF!" or some-such release. Which will then force us to come up with a new game, because we won't have anything to put out otherwise. :)
