They Stalk the Night...

We've just released a new card game -- Bloodlust. It's for 3-6 players and it uses a standard poker deck, plus Jesters. It is set in a nightclub during the days with goths roamed the streets and Bahuas ruled the night.

There's always something that ends up on the proverbial cutting room floor, and it's even good stuff some times. Like the variant game of Bloodlust that didn't make it in. Three were designed, only two were used. But the third one is now here on the blog for your reference when you have mastered the basic game.

VARIANT 3: "Hunter's Moon" (High Stakes)
For experienced players who want more risk:
When a Joker is played, instead of discarding all Hearts, each player must discard half their collected  Hearts (rounded down)
Add a third Joker to the deck for more chaos
Diamonds are worth 2 points instead of 1 (to reward the difficulty of playing them)

This variant makes Jokers less devastating but more frequent, and rewards players who can successfully navigate the Diamond rules.

Bloodlust is available at DriveThruCards and DriveThruRPG

The Were-Bat

Not to be mistaken with a werebat, the were bat is a weapon made specifically to engage werebeasts in melee combat. They are usually wielded by experienced hunters of werebeasts and are usually used by groups of six or more individuals. Basically, the wielders of the were-bats surround their target and then beat it to death.

A were-bat is typically a wooden baseball bat that is covered in dozens of studs and spikes made of pure silver. Wounds inflicted upon were-creatures are not subject to any rapid healing traits, but can only be healed through medical treatment and rest, or magic.

A were-bat weighs roughly 48oz/three pounds. It deals 1d4+STR bonus against non-lycanthropes and vampires, but deals 2d4+STR bonus to creatures with sensitivity to silver.

'Monster, Monster: Vampires' on sale now!

With game designer Andrew Pavlides and artist Pablo Marcos once again front-and-center, we've released our third product for D&D Fifth Edition--Monster, Monster: Vampires

Cover art by Michael Wolmarans
Monster, Monster: Vampires is more than twice the size of the previous entries in the series. It contains five vampire variants of use with your Fifth Edition games, three adventure hooks revolving around unique vampire personalities, and two chilling, offbeat illustrated vampire tales. Andrew and Pablo are joined this time out by "guest contributors" Ed Fedory and Steve Miller, while Robert Martin and Ricardo Villamonte provide most of the spot illustrations. It's all behind a creepy cover by Michael Wolmarans.

Monster, Monster: Vampires is available at RPGNow, DriveThruComics, and DriveThruRPG. You can see previews at any of those sites. Further, it's already been reviewed! Click here to see what was said bout the book on the RPG Crazy blog.
